Dry Skin

Dry skin is caused, simply, by lack of hydration. Dry skin may be physiological, which is a genetic issue and is shown by being sensitive to the cold as well as to dry air - with a marked tendency to chap. Your skin can become very itchy and "tight". Dry skin can also be pathological when the lack of hydration is really a medical issue, needing specialist attention. Dry skin is especially noticeable in winter when "crocodile" (rough, scaly skin) starts to take over.
